Overview: Publications Intern The publications intern will work on a variety of projects within the Global Publications department at JCR and get exposure to the publishing process. Responsibilities: What You Will Do: The publications intern will assist the editorial and production teams in reviewing and revising existing content, updating the webstore, preparing manuscript and art for production, providing support to editors and production project managers on various projects, and performing general administrative duties. The intern will learn about editorial and production processes in association publishing related to books, periodicals, and digital content. Qualifications: What You Will Bring: Candidate must be reliable, self-motivated, professional, detail-oriented, able to work autonomously on projects with appropriate guidance, and interested in learning more about the publishing industry as a possible career. Requirements include Student entering junior or senior year of university studies with good academic standing (at least a B average) Area of study should be English, journalism, communications, media, or related field, with related skills in Internet research Proficiency in Microsoft Word required. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and InDesign or similar programs a plus Available to participate in 12-week internship program, 15–20 hours per week from May to August
