Summary: Works with senior management to ensure appropriate personnel are available to achieve business objectives. Provides guidance and counsel to employees and management to ensure all departments receive effective human resource support to maintain positive employee relations within an environment that is complaint with related labor legislation. Key Result Areas: 1. Employee Relations – Works with management and employees at all levels to ensure sound employee relations. - Detects and resolves employee relations issues by gathering information and seeking appropriate resolutions. - Addresses employee questions and issues consistent with company policy. - Supports employee engagement at all levels. 2. Organizational Strategy, Recruiting and Staffing – Develops and implements recruiting strategies and procedures. - Create & communicate organizational design in strategy connected to business needs - Manages staff to ensure jobs are designed appropriately and positions are filled timely. - Sources candidates, internally and externally, in a cost effective manner to ensure quality staffing and support diversity efforts. - Leads recruiting strategies connected to organizational needs. 3. Management Development & Consulting – - Supports line management by providing HR support to achieve business objectives. - Works with L&D to identify training needs and assist with the delivery of programs. - Guides and motivates managers to ensure consistent and fair treatment of employees. - Leads, manages and develops HR Managers in Distribution, Sales, and Service. 4. Support of HR Initiatives & Projects – Manages staff to support departmental objectives. - Supports HR function goals and objectives to improve processes. - Manages staff to support various HR related employee functions and events. - Leads strategy, supports and implements strategy for the US Organization. 5. US Legislative & Safety Compliance – Maintains and ensure consistent application of policies of procedures in compliance with related labor legislation and safety - Develops and maintains policies to ensure compliance with applicable labor legislation. - Assists in developing the response to legal actions against the company. - Acts to ensure HR departmental activities and recordkeeping is compliant. Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s Degree optional or equivalent experience Qualifications: * Ten years related experience in Human Resource management; preferably at least 5 years in a Warehouse environment. Comprehensive knowledge of employment and safety laws. Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows. Knowledge of Ceridian or ability to learn company HRIS. Excellent organization, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors and deal tactfully with the public. Strong ability to write clearly, accurately, and logically. Able to lead and motivate employees by guiding, training, and offering counsel. Able to travel overnight as required.
