About us The Fox Hole is a two-level bar in the heart of Sydney's CBD, just a short stroll from Wynyard station. Inspired by a bar you may find in London, you can enter the front door on the corner of Kent and Erskine Streets, or directly into the Cellar Bar via Kent Street and forget the world outside. The food menu is British inspired while the drinks menu has the widest range of wine-by-the-glass (more than 20 different wines) and one of the longest gin (more than 50), cocktail and spirits menus in our part of the CBD. Trading as a cafe from early morning and a bar into the night, The Fox Hole is where great stories start with a a drink. The role on offer We are in search of some rockstar senior bartenders to join our close-knit venue team, after the recent departure of a few team members on working holiday visas who we've sent out in the world to continue their adventures. The venue has a bar on each level of our two storey Victorian terrace, each with around 25 seats to serve. Skills needed include: Excellent customer service - including proactive witty banter Solid ability to engage in suggestive selling and up-selling Cocktail-making experience essential Basic to intermediate wine knowledge - Australian wine regions a bonus Basic to intermediate spirits knowledge - gin and/or whisky a definite plus Neat and tidy operator - the bar is on show As a senior bartender you would be running the floor from the bar (20 seats) either flying solo or with the support of another on busy shifts. Shifts are generally in the evenings, Monday to Friday, running for 4-6 hours depending on trade. Opportunities for growth For the right person, additional roles/responsibilities may include: Supervising shifts across the whole venue (both bars and kitchen) Taking responsibility for lock-up Purchasing and stock control About you You will have proven bartender experience, as well as being: A team player with good communication skills Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure Job Type: Casual Salary: $26.03 /hour Job Types: Part-time, Casual Salary: $26.03 /hour Work Eligibility: The candidate can work temporarily with restriction on hours (Preferred)
