We are currently seeking one Associate/Research Associate with a focus in competition to join our Brussels office. Associates are central members of each project team and apply economic theory and quantitative methods to high profile antitrust investigations and regulatory projects as well as expert reports in the context of litigation on behalf of our clients. All Associates are responsible for framing research approaches, managing projects, supervising colleagues, and developing client relationships while building individual expertise. As they gain valuable hands-on project experience, Associates will gradually become more involved in business development efforts. The ideal candidate will possess: PhD in Economics with a focus in Empirical Industrial Organization is strongly desired or; Masters degree in Economics, with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience with a quantitative focus. Demonstrated potential and enthusiasm to develop new expertise areas, develop professionally, and help identify innovative solutions for our clients Pre or postgraduate work experience in a related work environment (preferably at a competition authority or economic consulting firm) is strongly desired Strong analytic and quantitative skills (including proficiency with analytical/statistical software such as STATA, R, and Excel), along with practical problem solving abilities Strong relationship building skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Desire to work in a collaborative team environment Demonstrated record of outstanding academic and/or practical accomplishment An entrepreneurial drive and intellectual curiosity What we offer: We offer a competitive compensation package and a unique environment that combines the best of intellectual rigor with interesting and diverse colleagues and a spirit of fun.
