Based in GTA, Mississauga Office The TENG Inc. - Mechanical Section helps our clients to enhance and maintain their facilities in oil & gas, pharmaceutical and other industries. The section leads the development of many of our projects working closely with the clients’ own personnel to develop efficient solutions to new and existing plants. Working alongside with other members of the section and in cooperation with the other disciplines, the intermediate mechanical engineer will help build and maintain a reputation for project quality in our fast growing, medium-size engineering company. His/her duties are listed below. The work will entail scoping, front-end, detail engineering and potential project and construction management support. The successful candidate would have strong technical knowledge based on a degree in Mechanical Engineering augmented by five years in relevant industries. Fluent verbal and written skills are a must. TITLE: Intermediate Mechanical Engineer MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop construction work package, equipment specification, and data sheet - Prepare tank/vessel sizing and strength calculations - Provide technical evaluations and engineering reports - Provide technical bid evaluations - Review vendor documents and inspection reports - Coordinate and cooperate with the lead engineers of other disciplines for projects - Responsible for planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects - Make site visits to assist with data collection, and get a better appreciation for operating system SUPERVISION RECEIVED - Reports to Section Head of Mechanical - Direct supervision from Lead Mechanical Engineers BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor or an advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university - Registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario - Experience in design of API 650/653 tanks - Ability to write proposals and reports - Capability to handle work on several projects simultaneously - Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - Min 5 years of experience, preferably in the oil and gas consulting environment - Develop 2-D drawings by using AutoCAD - Application of ASME Section VIII and IX - Application of API STD 650, 653, and 2000 - Pipe stress analysis by using CAESAR II TRAVEL - Light to moderate travel regime, site visits in Canada - Occasional on-site support - On-site project scoping and/or commissioning WORK PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Most work is performed in a professional office.
