Telstra Purple is the technology services arm of the Telstra group. Our UK team works alongside the Enterprise business to deliver consulting and managed services centred on digital transformation, security and data and analytics. You’ll be working with the commercial and delivery teams to make sure we properly account for the performance of the large portfolio of projects. We’re looking for someone who can recognise the patterns in performance and their underlying drivers, think about the commercial implications for the business and be able to clearly explain the results to stakeholders in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. Your attention to detail will help you prepare the monthly management accounts, the audited financial statements and external compliance documents. But we don’t just need you to explain historic numbers clearly and concisely; you’ll be working closely with other teams to forecast our future performance and help create budget targets for the business. As we drive growth in the UK we need to make sure our systems and processes scale effectively. You’ll help monitor our reporting processes and financial control framework so they support that growth and play a hands-on role in expense approval and payment and helping us integrate into Telstra International’s systems. This role will suit someone with a solid grounding in financial accounting who can identify the key issues and trends in a set of numbers and have the confidence and experience needed to work with teams outside finance to support profitability and growth. Key Accountabilities: Perform analysis and recognise patterns in data Provide advice based on technical knowledge and recommend improvements to reduce variance Produce business reports, coordinate relevant plans and identify key factors and trends. Perform tasks within prescribed timeframes. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the corporate memory/database for the business area Skills essential to this role: Preparing and maintaining financial accounts to assess financial performance Acting as a trusted business partner, communicating a shared vision to engage stakeholders in the achievement of enterprise goals Applying business and commercial fundamentals and success criteria to inform planning and decision making Planning how commercial problems can be addressed with data and analytics solutions, extracting and communicating meaningful insights from analyses, and actioning solutions to each problem Understanding and managing the financial position, in order to drive effective investment and financing decisions Developing, monitoring and enhancing Telstra’s financial control and governance to achieve financial integrity
