Librarian (Kaitiaki Pukapuka) Fixed Term-Full Time Tauranga Campus Te Wānanga o Aotearoa invites applications for a Librarian to provide a high standard of library and information services to tauira and kaimahi throughout the takiwā based on the guiding principles and strategic goals of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. This permanent, full- time role is based at our Tauranga Campus. Duties include; but not limited to: Enhance and maintain library collections, databases and catalogues Ensure that the library environment and resources reflect the needs of users in vb Contribute to local and national planning around library services, sites and resourcing Provide leadership, performance management and support for all direct reports Establish and maintain internal and external relationships with library ad information agencies Health & Safety awareness for all kaimahi and tauira To be successful for this role the candidate must attain; Bachelor Degree in Library and information services or related subject 2+ years professional library experience; experience in a tertiary library would be advantageous Teaching or training experience is desirable Experience in relating library processes to library management systems Supervisory experience is desirable Understands and uses basic te reo Māori phrases, mihi and greetings (TARM level 2 or equivalent qualification is desirable) Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership skills Excellent computer literacy skills including Microsoft office suite The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to customer service with the ability to build, establish and maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders; ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations of the campus library. Working some weekends and evenings will be a requirement of this role.
