Our Utilities team in the Engineering Department are proud contributors to the growth of our community. We are currently looking for a Water Compliance Officer to join the water/wastewater team - could this be you? In this specialist role based in Richmond, you'll be responsible for Council's compliance with the Drinking Water Standards of New Zealand, water supply consents, and legislation and regulations relating to our Water Safety Plans. You will also take a lead role in identifying and rectifying any bacteriological incidents, as well as participating in the design and upgrading of the district's water supply treatment. You'll have a post-graduate qualification in science (preferably water quality), environmental health or public health engineering, and preferably five years previous experience working in Local Government or environmental health. You'll also have proven experience in the provision of public water services, particularly in water treatment, and excellent knowledge of public health and environmental legislation, regulations, standards and funding.
