Job Title: Engineer Network Intelligence-DPI Client: Leading Telecom company in UAE Location: Abu Dhabi/Dubai Duration: Long Term Languages: English Offered salary: Attractive Salary + Standard UAE Benefits Nationality:: Any Gender:: Any Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Telecommunications/equivalent Job Description: Job description Engineer Network Intelligence Center (Network Traffic Analysis) Position Overview Conduct daily testing and blocking of fraudulent Internet applications in compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop and apply complex traffic management policies such as Internet traffic identification, Internet Traffic management/optimization, Policy Enforcement (i.e. blocking fraudulent apps that impact revenue) and VoIP Services support (Internet calling plans). Conduct advanced Analytics to help with Business decisions, and Automation. Provide support to major business initiatives while providing critical support to 7+ internal and external VIP entities. Job Responsibilities ? Conduct daily analysis of various fraudulent Internet applications traffic behaviors in order to develop network-based blocking policies (actions) using Deep Packet Inspection solutions (DPI). ? Utilize packet capture software such as Wireshark or TCPDump to analyze various application traffic flows (traffic patterns) to support with customer troubleshooting issues. ? Generate detailed analysis traffic properties (IP address, ports, protocol, domain, digital certificate, etc.) to develop unique DPI signatures (unique traffic patterns/behavior) in order to produce recurring traffic statistics (dashboard, reports, etc.). ? Develop DPI signatures (unique traffic patterns/behavior) to support Internet traffic policy management (shaping, logging, teeing, etc.). ? Develop understanding of various legitimate Internet applications traffic behaviors to differentiate them from fraudulent ones that employ faking techniques to bypass DPI blocking polices. ? Work with various stakeholders to understand and document their Internet traffic management requirements. After which, develop DPI signatures to provide advanced analytics of Internet trends and customer behaviors to support critical business decisions. ? Periodically custom generate statistical reports of traffic volumes, bandwidth utilization, number of users, number of connections, etc. along with explanations of influences of such trends. ? Developing automation scripts and tools to aid with daily testing and traffic analysis. ? Conduct DPI signature optimization on regular basis to ensure optimum utilization of DPI resources (CPU and memory). ? Participate in rotating shift duty and on-call schedule with other members of the team, including during weekends (24X7). ? Ensure operations related activities performed in compliance with company standards and regulations. ? Document developed DPI signatures and troubleshooting incidents. ? Consciously keep learning and general familiarity with Network Layers 2/3/4/7 ? Supporting and participating in the QA process of policies, procedure and asset maintenance. ? Provide quality documentation and deliver presentations about network issues, updates and troubleshooting techniques Qualifications and Certificates: ? A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. ? 5+ years’ experience. ? CCNA, CCNP certificates or any relevant networking certificates. ? Programming language (.e.g.: Python, JavaScript, HTML, C#) ? Packet analyzer experience (Wireshark, TCPDump). ? Passionate about automation, performance, reliability, visibility, use of the best tools possible Experience and Skills: ? Experience with Deep Packet Inspection solutions (Sandvine, Procera). ? A good understanding of TCP/IP network technologies and Layer 3 routing protocols (RIP,BGP, OSPF, ISIS,BGP) ? Working knowledge analyzing and troubleshooting Internet protocols/traffic (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, EMAIL, DNS, IPSEC, L2TP, PPTP, STUN, TCP, UDP, etc.). ? Working knowledge analyzing and troubleshooting VoIP protocols/traffic (H.323, RTP, SIP, STUN, Etc.). ? Working knowledge of different VPN protocols and technologies. ? Basic understanding of Machine Learning principles and techniques. ? Basic understanding of Cloud principles and techniques. ? Working knowledge testing mobile applications. Test Automation is a plus. ? Basic understanding of AAA platforms such as Radius or TACACS. ? DB Administration: SQL queries Management, tuning and fault finding of database systems ? Experienced in Unix/Linux administration. ? Good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS fields. ? Good understanding of DNS fields and queries. ? Knowledge of Virtualization (Open stack) is preferred. ? Good Network troubleshooting skills. ? Ability to multitask. Work under challenging circumstances to meet deadlines. ? Willing to learn new technologies. ? Poses problem-solving thinking. ? Team player. ? Excellent communication skills.
