In our quest to develop the next generation of software tools to support wind blade production, we are also seeking a talented CAD Designer who is willing to learn and maintain advanced 3D composite wind blade models on CATIA V5. Our ideal candidate will: Develop strong 3D CAD skills and enjoy working in a global company bysupporting multiple engineering teams (Tooling, Engineering, purchasing etc.) Create 3D blade layup models; Develop expertisein best practices and documentation procedures. Develop glass patterns, core kits and laser projection files for TPI’s wind bladesproduction lines from the blade layup model. Create appropriate drawings, documentation and Engineering Change orders Support laser calibration and commissioning for local site design engineers Produce high quality project deliverables on schedule. Monitor 3D Model details from tooling fabrication up through initial blade production. Mentor global sites in the 3D layup creation process after the process has been standardized. Develop expertise in tooling inspection and maintenance using laser system. RequiredSkills and Education 3D CAD modelling experience REQUIRED (CATIA V5 Preferred) Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills. A minimum basic knowledge of composite manufacturing. Willingness to learn Attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision Preferred Skills and Education Experience with CATIA is highly preferred. BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field Process knowledge of Infusion Molding Wind blade manufacturing experience Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools and drafting Applicants should be local to Rhode Island or surrounding areas.
