From System Architect, Hardware Architect up to Software of Hardware Programmer, TOPIC has experts for each phase of the development project. All our engineers are highly trained (Bachelor, Master, PDEng or PhD) and have broad project experience which enables them to add value to a project. TOPIC has established an impressive track-record in in-house execution of our client’s projects. Our clients hire us to carry out (partial) projects in our Project Organisation located at our Best office. The content of these projects may vary from a software-only or hardware-only project to an entire development project for which we develop the entire system in-house. Examples of in-house projects: Wireless Biometrical Therapy Device More knowledge continually becomes available on measuring and stimulating the human body for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. An example of this is a project we realised which measures an abundance of a patient’s biometrical signals and stimulates the muscles/nerves for therapeutic treatments. TOPIC was responsible for: The development of the electronics of the sensor probe The porting of the Linux core onto the probe The realisation of the drivers for the wireless communication between the probe The calculating system, for instance an iPad or laptop Glycocalyx Measurement System This developed system allows a non-invasive, through the mouth, microscopic recording to be made in order to establish the width of the so-called glycocalyx. Glycocalyx is a natural sugar coat on the inside of the capillaries which turns out to play an important preventive part in the development of among others diabetes and heart- and vascular diseases. The Glycocalyx Measurement System is a fully automated system for the recording, analysis and storing of glycocalyx measurements and results. TOPIC was responsible for the following phases of the development of the system: Proof of concept, in which we optimised Matlab algorithms and developed new image editing algorithms Development of a research system for clinical studies Development of the medical software product GlycoCheck We thrive in embedded and medical projects. Combining an understanding of clinical workflow processes, smart sensors, mathematical models and deep learning algorithms, we aim to transform the complexity of our clients clinical processes into a transparent and smoothly running flow. Our WISH solution provides our clients with real-time schedule updates, presence of all instruments needed and location of patients – basically all our client needs to know to run the clinical center or department smoothly.
