TDS is an Integrated Security Solutions company who specialise in developing software for Access Control, Visitor Management and Student Attendance. We have a global client base including; Google, MasterCard, DAA and Goldman Sachs. Due to an increase in client business, an opportunity exists within our Software Development Team located in Citywest, Dublin for a DBA Engineer You will be expected to: Create and maintain databases required for development, testing and production usage on local and hosted servers. Plan and implement backup and recovery of Oracle databases. Control migrations of application programs, database changes and through the development life cycle. Implement and enforce security for all of the Oracle databases. Put standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance. The DBA will perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the site standards are being adhered to. Assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects as the DBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design. Install and configure Oracle databases on hosted as well as on customer hardware remotely. Develop PL/SQL scripts for database installation and upgrades. Document, investigate, and resolve customer requests and engineering issues. Take active participation in the software engineering process by providing database technical support to the application development team. AWS Console management skills - desirable (and a huge plus). To be considered you must have: 2-3 years’ commercial experience in the field. Excellent knowledge of a commercial RDBMS such as Oracle. Excellent SQL skills, experience with a SQL extension such as PL/SQL highly desirable, Oracle Forms experience would be beneficial. Excellent knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios with skills in Oracle tools such as RMAN, Enterprise Manager. A good knowledge of Oracle security, user management and database integrity. Commercial experience in the build and deployment of applications to the cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) is desired (and a huge plus!)
