ABOUT US DIANA develops tailor-made solutions from natural raw materials for the food industry. These products can significantly improve the sensorial and nutritional performance of foods by boosting their palatability, flavor, texture, color and smell. In addition, DIANA’s nutritional concepts help to reinforce the health benefit of products by using functional actives. DIANA collaborates with its clients from the food, pet food, nutraceuticals and aquaculture industries. DIANA is organized in three business units, which correspond to its targeted markets: Food, Pet Food and Aquaculture. There is NOVA, our incubator for innovation in health and nutrition. RESPONSIBILITIES PROGRAM AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT Participate in the different phases of the projects with other Diana Pet Food departments; In charge of projects of developments of performing solutions linked to Diana Pet Food Strategy, from pilot scale to industrialization; Coordinate palatability tests with the sensorial panel; Build the development plan and manage milestones and timeline; Monitor expenses of the projects, analyze results, realize synthesis, prepare presentations, elaborate documents and update hazard risk analysis assessment and targeted deliverables. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – Exploration and Test Develop formulas in accordance with project entry data’s; Calculate the manufacturing cost and evaluate the risks; Follow up and produce the prototypes in the pilot plant; Critical results evaluation and conclusions with the management for next steps. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT - Industrialization Ensure new product and new equipment qualification in accordance with the R&D program and priorities from management; Organize opening and closing reviews with quality, safety, purchasing and industrial teams; Manage the qualification follow-up; Schedule with production the trials to ensure project is on time; Prepare all documentation related with the trial: formulation in the ERP, recipe, process flow chart and trial report; Validate the trial: chemical analysis, specifications, yields, palatability; Ensure follow-up after product validation in production. INGREDIENT QUALIFICATION Work with purchasing team in the qualification of new ingredients and suppliers; Evaluate supplier and ingredient documentation; Elaborate internal specification with the support of quality team. TECHNICAL SUPPORT Support operations team to improve current processes and manufacturing practices Support industrial department in the qualification of new equipment set up; Support quality team about process and formula. INITIATIVES Propose and lead the actions to improve the R&D organization; Follow up in autonomy for own R&D projects and make decisions independently on how to pursue; Report to management about any malfunctioning into the system, take relevant short-term corrective action, and propose long-term options; To constantly improve the communication system (paperwork, computers…) QUALIFICATION Graduation: Food Engineer, Chemical Engineer or equivalent. Experience: In food industry as part of the product development, industrial or quality team.
