Junior Financial Controller (0.6-0.8 FTE) Salary (fulltime): €3,000-3,500 gross pm (depending on level of experience) General description With the support of a significant funding round, Sympower is quickly rolling-out its sustainable energy services throughout Europe. To support this growth, our CFO is looking to expand the Finance team with a Junior Finance Controller to take our financial administration to the next level. As a Junior Finance Controller you will play a key role in our Finance department and work closely with our CFO. Your primary responsibility will be to make sure the entire financial administration is flawless. And with operations in 5 countries (and counting) managing our financial processes is a challenging task! Much of the work is outsourced to local accountants, but the processes still require regular input and attention from our side. As our organisation is growing rapidly we need to further professionalise the finance department. This might involve bringing more processes in-house. You can play a key role in this process and will get the opportunity to develop and grow with the organisation! What you will do (to start off with) Are responsible for all bookkeeping activities Ensure the execution of the daily transactions are done accordingly Support and monitor local accountants in each of our countries (also with VAT and other tax filings) Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting Cost and other financial analyses Responsible for employee salary / expense administration Support the cash flow management and credit control activities Prepare supporting information for annual report and audit Continuously define process updates to ensure the finance team becomes more efficient and adds value to the entire organization Who you are Bachelor or master’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting 2-3 years of relevant experience (e.g. financial control, accounting etc.) Good understanding of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Exact Online, or similar online accounting software Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, at least intermediate level in Dutch A quick learner Able to work from our Amsterdam office at least 3-4 days per week What Sympower offers Mission-driven team, supported by leading Dutch impact investors International and fast-paced environment Flexible working hours Opportunities for professional development through training and mentoring Office in the center of Amsterdam Team get togethers multiple times per year in different countries About Sympower Sympower focuses on the most challenging issue in the electricity system: real-time balancing of electricity supply and demand.
