Your responsibilities will include: Organise fundraising events to promote Sue Ryder Recruit, train & retain a volunteer team, who'll look to you for leadership and guidance. Proactively maintain a well merchandised shop that pushes the boundaries and goes above and beyond your customers' individual expectations Manage effective stock processes and embrace new ways of working through the introduction of an Epos operation Attend area meetings and assisting at other shops as required Embracing changes and development of new IT procedures About you Our Shop Managers are vital to our success and by using your retail experience to drive business, push sales and achieve targets you’ll be improving the lives of people with a life-changing condition. To be successful in this role you’ll have the commercial awareness to deliver sales and meet deadlines combined with ability to plan and prioritise. You will have proven team leadership skills and the ability to lead a team of volunteers. The Petersfield branch of Sue Ryder is located close to the bustling centre of this busy market town - a retail destination for a wide local area. The shop enjoys a corner frontage a minutes’ walk from the market square and main shopping street. The shop has an excellent reputation, for the quality and range of goods as well as for high service standards. We have a loyal band of donors and are supported by a loyal band of dedicated volunteers. Our stock ranges from the women’s wear range that would cloth for any occasion and the expanding menswear section that has a good choice of formal and casual wear; home wares and bric-a-brac cater for anyone seeking more formal ornaments and children delight at the toy room which also carries a range of kid’s clothing and general linen; we also provide a comfortable and quiet book room containing an excellent range of fiction and factual reading, music for all ears as well as films and games. Finally, ‘Electrics’ has a high turnover of all sorts of appliances from HiFi, TVs, lamps and kitchen tools.
