Women in STEM Leadership Program Administrator - 2000780 Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume) Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher), by June 2020, in Women and Gender Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Communication, Journalism, or a related field. One year of full-time experience working with women and/or underrepresented minorities to include a robust understanding of the issues they face in pursuing STEM careers. Demonstrated experience managing projects. Experience with mentorship. Demonstrated experience in building, managing, and serving a diverse and geographically dispersed community using digital tools and environments. Preferred Qualifications: PhD (foreign equivalent or higher) in Women and Gender Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Communication, Journalism, or a related field. At least 5 years working with women and/or underrepresented minorities. Experience working in higher education or a non-profit organization. Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of new media and other digital communication tools. Brief Description of Duties: The Women in STEM Leadership Program Administrator will work in collaboration with the Alda Center’s curriculum design team in the development and implementation of a robust networking program designed to make STEM and other research-based fields more inclusive to a diverse population. The person will oversee and support individual empowerment projects, designed to address a particular need related to inclusivity. The incumbent will create and manage a network that is inclusive, welcoming, and approachable for program participants and also assist with marketing and promotion efforts to encourage individuals to join and actively participate in the Center’s Women in STEM Communication and Leadership Program. The successful incumbent will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Design and lead all efforts with regard to a networking program focused on Women in STEM leadership that is also in line with the Alda Method. Facilitate networking and mentorship opportunities for and among participants of the Alda Center’s Women in Stem Communication workshop. Develop procedures and structure for the Women in STEM program. Identify, develop and lead structured online programs and activities designed to strengthen the network and foster collaboration between and among program participants. Interact with program participants individually to offer more personalized support and coaching. Assist program participants in proposing innovative, achievable projects focused on inclusivity. Oversee and direct the selection and funding process for project proposals. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission. Special Notes: This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
