We are currently seeking an IT Security Analyst to join our team based in our Halifax, NS office. Start Date: March, 2020 Type of Position: Full Time, Permanent Close Date: February 17, 2020 Position Summary: The Security Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of security standards, policies, and operational procedures to ensure the firms information systems are adequately protected. This role will work directly with our Security Administrator to assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of the information technology security environment. They will conduct vendor, project and technical security reviews. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business regarding security issues while ensuring that the firm's information assets are properly protected is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the development, implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of security strategies, policies, practices, procedures, and standard based on security models including ISO and NIST; Assist with the management of endpoint security solutions including anti-virus, malware, and hard drive encryption, DLP and Multifactor solutions; Conducting internal IT audits in accordance to security best practices and frameworks; Assist the security administrator with the managed security partner relationship in reviewing vulnerability testing reports and making necessary security adjustments as identified; Work with Network Analyst in the design and security of a multi-site network of switches, routers, wireless access points and security appliances; Conducting security risk and vulnerability assessments, including those associated with the development of new or significantly enhanced business solutions; Work with the Security Administrator in monitoring and remediation of risks to ensure that continual review of business and IT processes is performed. Help maintain a risk tracking matrix to track and communicate security gaps to the business; Provide code oversight and review for Developers and report any anomalies or insecure code to the Security Administrator; Work with relevant team members to prepare, document and test the Firm's disaster recovery and business continuity plans for information systems; Provide support for the IT Helpdesk for escalated security related tickets as required, ensuring that tickets are completed within the service level agreements as well as direction and strategies for virus detection and proper removal; Assess and review current technology infrastructure to identify key risk areas, and ensure adequate levels of controls are in place to address those risks; Identify and implement solutions for effective security related to server/desktop/laptop environment; Ensuring that all security logs are adequately monitored, and that appropriate action is taken when incidents are discovered; Adheres to the Administrators Security Policy including the User and Network Security Policy; and, Other duties as assigned. Candidate Profile: Degree or diploma in Computer Science; CISSP and related security qualifications an asset; Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in networking including designing and administering LAN/WAN, Internet and VPN security and connectivity; Knowledge of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts; Windows Server, security infrastructure, PKI, SAML, SSO and Multifactor technologies; Ability to understand and review programming languages and SQL data; Experience in performing security architecture reviews, IT Audits and developing and presenting information security metrics an asset; Experience securing server and network device operating systems.
