The Mechanical Drafting Technician will be working in a fast paced, multi project environment and is responsible for providing mechanical design and detailing to complete engineering drawings for the manufacturing of down-hole tools. This role will work closely with the Engineering and new product development teams to create new and innovative technology for use in downhole tools. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Create accurate and clear manufacturing drawings in compliance with drafting standards Create detailed Bill of Material Drawings for small and large assemblies Follow and define company standards for document organization and part numbering Write technical documentation pertaining to products Communicate and coordinate with other departments including manufacturing, production, sales, marketing and engineering to provide drawings that meet all requirements Aid in the development, maintenance and practice of the Engineering & Drafting department standards Create detailed marketing models, literature and drawings for sales team Perform tolerance analysis on assemblies and parts Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Possesses a degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or other related education Possesses a minimum of 2 years drafting experience Possesses a good working knowledge of drafting standards Knowledgeable in the design and detailing practices and materials for down-hole tools. Must be proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Highly self-motivated Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. A team-oriented work approach with the ability to work independently. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including turning and milling Knowledge about precision measuring equipment, tolerancing and part interconnectivity Good oral and written communication skills Job Type: Full-time Experience: mechanical drafting: 2 years (Required) Solidworks: 2 years (Required) Education: AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (Required) Location: Calgary, AB (Required)
