Position Summary: The Facilities Engineer Summer Student will be based in the Calgary office, working in the Engineering group, which is an integral business unit of Steel Reef Infrastructure Corp. The primary responsibility of this role will be to support the Facilities Engineering initiatives through a summer student project. This is a 4-month opportunity from May to August 2020. The Facilities Engineer Summer Student will report to the Project Engineering, Team Lead. Position Responsibilities: Assist Team Leads and Engineers within the group on facilities project engineering tasks. Review project scope, drawings, specs and standards, construction best practices and perform calculations. Track project schedule and budget. Collaborate with different groups across the organization as required. Create or optimize existing tools or guidance documents to assist project team members. Utilize engineering and creative thinking skill set, for process enhancement and continuous improvement for the group. Travel to the field as required; Other duties as assigned Required Skills, Experience & Education: Currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary engineering program (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term; Previous summer or work term experience in an Oil & Gas position would be beneficial; Strong analytical, decision making, organizational and facilitator skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent computer skills; Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently; Interest in the Oil and Gas Industry. The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel regularly to operating sites. **Must be able to travel to the USA for business meetings.
