Reporting into the Mechanical Engineering Superintendent, we are seeking to appoint a Development Engineer to Tarong Power Station to provide technical support to Tarong power stations as required. About the Position Reporting into the Mechanical Engineering Superintendent, we are seeking to appoint a Development Engineer to Tarong Power Station to provide technical support to Tarong power stations as required. Based in the South Burnett region, technical support is required to cover areas and issues relating to plant safety, reliability and availability ensuring the integrity of all of Tarong’s Assets, as well as day-to-day Operations and Maintenance support. Specifically:- Undertake engineering continuous improvement activities, which contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Asset Strategy Work within a team-based work environment, ensuring that effective relationships are developed and maintained both within the immediate workplace and with internal and external clients Assist and contribute to the preparation of discussion papers, reports, briefing notes, submissions and other associated correspondence on a range of complex engineering issues Develop and maintain specific Generation plant expertise to the level that this position is a reference point for that specific plant Provide appropriate and timely resolutions of mechanical/electrical engineering functional issues within Generation Operations. About You Two-five years experience in a heavy industrial mechanical engineering environment Practical experience in engineering concepts, principles, methodologies and techniques A high level of oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team environment Demonstrated ability to provide engineering solutions to operational issues at an experienced professional level Keen and motivated to develop relevant industry plant knowledge and willingness to learn Well developed analytical, research and problem solving skills A degree in Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) It is desirable that the applicant be eligible to undertake a Professional Development Program (i.e. IEAUST) for the relevant discipline.
