WORK SHIFT Varies JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Summary of the Job: Patrols the interior and exterior grounds of the hospital to protect property and to assist in providing a safe environment for all patients, visitors, physicians and employees. Responds to all emergency situations and alerts local authorities when required, monitors vehicle and pedestrian traffic on hospital property. Monitors visitors and issues passes after hours. Enforces and follows Security and St. Tammany Parish Hospital policy and procedures. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write and follow written or oral instructions. Previous security or law enforcement experience required. Must not have been convicted of a felony. Must have a phone. Must be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications: Certification or registration with the Louisiana State Board of Private Security examiners preferred. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 100 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise. Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) – talking, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%) – balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling/feeling Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), crawling EMPLOYMENT Each St. Tammany Parish Hospital staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
