Following the transition of St Helens Community Paediatric Services into the Paediatric Department (scheduled for April, 2020) you will have the opportunity to become involved in a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute and community care to the children and young people of St Helens and helping us to deliver a seamless and high quality service. Our Community Paediatric Team takes pride in developing effective community services, by ensuring that everything they do is based around the aim of quality first. The Team comprises Consultants, Specialty Grade Doctors and a range of nursing staff, including Advanced Nurse Practitioners who provide a high quality service supporting children and young people in a community setting. This role will include working as the Named Doctor for Looked After Children (LAC) in close liaison with the Local Authority and LAC nurses, along with other clinical staff who may be involved in the care of children coming into care. The Paediatric Department at STHK Trust prides itself on being a friendly, caring, and supportive team within the Medical Care Group. There is an active Audit and Clinical Governance structure. The Department was scored OUTSTANDING in CARING at the latest CQC inspection in August 2015 and consistently scores over 95% in the ‘Friends and Family Test’ patient satisfaction survey. As a CQC 'Outstanding' Trust and winner of the 2019 HSJ Trust of the year award, this organisation is looking to play a key role in the delivery of outstanding community services to the population it serves. Working with a dynamic senior leadership team, you will be in an exciting position to lead pivotal community services in line with the vision of national strategies such as the five year forward view. Using your amazing interpersonal skills and innovative leadership style, your role will encompass direct responsibility for the delivery of services whilst helping facilitate and support the development of interagency and locality working. This is a challenging role which calls on the individual to break down the historic barriers between services and importantly focus on how professionals can work together for the best outcome for our patients and wider population. Applicants must be eligible for full registration with the GMC at the time of appointment. Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register via one of the following: 1) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) 2) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) (CESR candidates must have written GMFC confirmation upon successful application) Applicants are required to hold Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Heath (UK or equivalent qualifications).
