We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team. You’ll support our Franchise and Starbucks business in supplying robust and timely analysis including management accounts, budgets and forecasts. Key accountabilities: Responsible for production, in line with the accounts timetable, of the Franchise, Starbucks and Other Retail Management accounts to review stage. This should include challenge, variance analysis, gap bridge, and commentary to support the numbers Working with budget holders to produce robust and timely annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in line with the agreed timetable. To include challenge, variance analysis and gap bridge ready for review Monthly reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts Oversee the weekly reporting of the Franchise and Starbucks performance to include variance analysis, benchmarking against prior year, budget and forecasts Oversee the weekly cash statement processing for the Starbucks business Oversee weekly management fee invoices and periodic opex recharges to the Welcome and Southern Coop Franchisees Accountable for the preparation and submission of the promotional claims for Franchisees. Ensuring claims submissions are made on time and payments are made to Franchisees Ownership and understanding of all end to end franchise and Starbucks finance processes. Educating other colleagues to ensure professional support and service is provided Develop and automate all aspects of the role to enable faster delivery and pro-active analysis focus, and development of the role Management and development of the Assistant Management Accountant for Franchise and Other Retail. Ensuring there is adequate cover for tasks during periods of absence Assist in the year end exercise and the preparation of the annual reports and audit queries in accordance with year end and audit timetables Deputising for the Finance Manager – Franchise and Other Retail in times of absence Any Ad Hoc tasks that may be required by the Finance Manger – Franchise & Other Retail Key experience, knowledge and skills: CIMA qualified or equivalent Management Accounts experience required. Experience in producing P&Ls for review required - to include accruals and prepayments. Proficient in the use of Excel supported by generally high levels of IT literacy. Ability to manage own workload accordingly to enable deadlines to be met. High attention to detail. Flexible with the ability to operate to tight period end deadlines. Will to progress and develop the role accordingly. Experience of Agresso / TM1 / Cognos would be beneficial but not essential If you’re passionate about finance, and have a background in a fast-paced environment then we would love to hear from you.
