We are looking for a dynamic, responsive and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Team Leader within Southampton City Council's Provider Services; Kentish Road Respite Service. We require a team player with excellent communication skills who want to deliver a high level of care and support, whilst maintaining quality and safety standards at all times in line with SCC policies. This is an excellent opportunity for you to be able to join Southampton City Council who would provide staff with a full induction, training and opportunities within Adult Social Care. You will undertake the daily management of all aspects of the running of the service including service user assessments, admissions, discharges, availability and handovers. You will support managers following referrals from care managers or Continuing Health Care to ensure the provision of high quality, safe and responsive respite support to individuals to meet their assessed needs. You will be responsible in supporting the managers to ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place to meet the Care Quality Commission requirements and outcomes and to provide and effective, efficient and safe service. You will support the managers to monitor, manage and develop provision to meet current and future needs of the service in line with local government policy. You will participate in the selection and recruitment of staff. You will be responsible in providing effective supervisions and appraisals to core care staff whilst ensuring business plan objectives are included in appraisal targets. You will manage the administration of medication within the service including the appropriate liaison with health professionals to ensure that medication is correct and up to date for all individuals accessing respite. You will ensure that health and safety of service users and staff is paramount and that appropriate first aid is provided when required. It is essential for you to hold a Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards it. You would also be expected to be trained as a Qualified First Aider or a willingness to complete this training.
