Interview date 20th March 2020 Solace Women’s Aid is an innovative, exciting, grassroots charity working across London. About the Service The advice team provides services to London residents via the Solace Advice Hub which provides services across London. About the Role Providing an effective and efficient advice and casework service to women affected by VAWG. The responsibilities will include working on the advice line on a rota basis and providing accurate advice, support, advocacy and casework to women and girls affected by all forms of VAWG, carrying out effective and in-depth casework, implementing the empowerment model and strength based approach, providing efficient advice and support to professionals calling the line, promote the services to reach as many women in need of the service as possible. The role also includes supporting and supervising our volunteers on the line. Ensuring the duty inbox is checked and the referrals are processed. About You The post-holder must have the ability to work as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment, the ability to learn new skills and the desire, passion, resilience and empathy to support women and girls who are affected by VAWG and might be in crisis situations. This post requires proactive working, strong advocacy skills, ability to prioritise the workload, manage a busy workload and good communication and empathy skills. This role requires a good understanding of the options available to women who experience VAWG including up to date knowledge of housing, legal protection, protection for children, financial information including benefits and domestic violence/sexual violence and immigration status The post holder must have core skills to work under without compromising from the quality of the service delivery and needs to recognise the importance of self-care and be willing to implement into the daily practice.
