We are looking to hire an excellent HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) Regional Coordinator on a permanent basis to support and maintain compliance with all John Crane, Smiths Group, and regulatory objectives, policies, and requirements in our Manchester office. This is a unique opportunity where you can express your views and travel also within Europe. Furthermore, this is a key strategic position to the long-term success of the group’s improvement strategy. As a member of the HSSE team, you will directly contribute to the creation of a world class safety environment and assist in the reduction of the environmental impacts of operations across all John Crane facilities within the assigned region. Duties and Responsibilities Provide oversight of John Crane Global HSE Manuals, Policies, and HSSE internal assessment processes (including support of Global third party and customer HSE and security assessments) Provide support to global teams in the areas of HSSE compliance, processes and tools. Support customer HSE requirements including data management for contractor databases including but not limited to ISNetworld, Achilles and other relevant bodies Support ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certifications and ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001) Safety Management System Certifications in conjunction with the Process Excellence Team Drives enhancements to global and site practices, processes and tools to support changing / evolving global needs / requirements Assist and support HSSE process improvement initiatives in conjunction with Global Quality and Process Excellence Team Support all sites on the implementation and ongoing maintenance of HSSE reporting platforms Deploys, leads, coaches, mentors and develops Global and site HSSE personnel, and drives compliance and improvements Required Skills and Experience Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required Demonstrated Leadership experience required in HSE for large multinational, multi-site organization. Experience in manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, or petrol chemical industries is preferred. Proven capability to implement technical fundamental of safety and environmental management, including risk assessments and reduction, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, ergonomics and occupational health. Must demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be willing to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment while managing multiple assignments with strict deadlines You could be successful in this role if you are willing to travel (up to 30% in EMEA region) and you possess the following competencies: global leadership, multi-site leadership, strong written and oral communication, resource management, problem solving, process improvement, conflict resolution and process development / deployment administration and change management About us Smiths is always looking for curious minds.
