WHO WE WANT: Smith Gardens Inc. is looking for a Sales Forecasting Analyst to works closely with our Account Managers to ensure that all product forecasting is completed to allow plant inputs to be sourced on a timely basis. In our year-round planning environment, the Sales Forecasting Analyst is responsible for analyzing historical shipments, sell-through and seasonality of each product to ensure optimal production schedules to meet consumer demand. If you’re the right fit, you’re an analytical, organized and detailed-oriented person, but you may also be a plant person looking for some experience on the sales side of the business. WHERE WE WORK: This position is located in beautiful Bellingham, Washington, where Smith Gardens first sprouted in 1901. Now almost 120 years old, the company has grown by over 50% just in the last few years, and is one of the largest in the industry. THE DAY-TO-DAY: Supports Account Managers in completing sound sales forecasts on year-round basis Analyses historical data and establishes weekly sales spread per item and market area, for each customer group Presents forecasts for review and approval, and submits plans to the Production department Maintains and monitors product availability for customer advertisements plans Collaborates with Inventory Managers on contract-grown items to ensure availability meets sales plan Prepares weekly corporate sales reports and ad hoc sales analyses SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Analytical sales operations or accounting/financial analysis experience MS Excel skills at an advanced level. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Strong planning, organizing and project management skills with focus on meeting deadlines Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Ability to daily work cross-departmentally in an even-keeled manner A desire to contribute to a healthy, exciting work environment, one where we work cross-departmentally daily and get to know and love the ins and outs of our work—and each other AA or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or operational management Degree in Horticulture a plus BENEFITS: Profit sharing 401K match Medical, dental and vision Paid time-off Life and AD&D insurance Long-term disability
