Job Summary The Manufacturing Fixture Design Engineer candidate must have knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing processes in order to design and manufacture fixtures/tooling to improve the production efficiency. This position designs and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing fixtures and tools for the fabrication of metal products which meets customer specifications and quality standards. Essential Functions Designs fixturing to support welding, machining, fabricating & assembly processes as required Works with Jig & Fixture Toolmakers as needed to follow a fixture build from conception to completion Works with shop floor manufacturing and supervisory personnel to determine potential opportunities for fixturing and tooling Determines status of open fixtures. Determines labor, material, and time necessary for completion Tracks fixtures through completion, including quality department and customer validation Utilizes AutoCad Inventor 3D software to perform fixture design Manages fixture maintenance program, generates detailed list of repairs needed, and oversees completion of repairs Works with Production and Engineering departments to design, develop, test, and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies Performs other duties, assignments, and special projects as required Competencies Bachelor or Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering or similar field is preferred, but not required Personal time management; must be able to manage multiple tasks & projects effectively Communication Proficiency for informing others Must have 5+ years of experience working in the steel manufacturing with relevant experience Knowledge of Steel manufacturing operations and processes Ability to understand blue prints, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation is required Experience and proficiency designing with 3D modeling software is required; Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred Job Type: Full-time Salary: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year Experience: Steel Manufacturing with Relevant: 5 years (Required) Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Location: Minonk, IL 61760 (Required) Work authorization: United States (Preferred) Work Location: One location Benefits: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Other Schedule: Monday to Friday Day shift 8 hour shift Other
