What They Need From You Qualified as a CSP or similar Proven experience of working as a Product Owner in a delivery environment, preferably within a product development environment Experience of working in an Agile delivery environment; ideally with distributed delivery teams Business planning and monitoring Requirements elicitation and validation Commercial awareness Deep domain knowledge A leader, who can motivate a group of technical colleagues towards a business goal A team player – able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from both the Technology and Customer Facing teams, as well as the companies’ customers Able to attend and represent the Product Team and/or the Company at internal and external meetings Enjoys spending time with customers to understand their processes and pain points Good technical experience and understanding Role Description You will: Be an integral member of the scrum team within the Technology division and is expected to perform as such in all aspects of team success. Deliver a unified customer view into Engineering through provision of visible, well-articulated, detailed and prioritised backlogs of user stories into the scrum delivery teams. Take inputs from all sources, map out what this means for the product, decompose it into small chunks of work, prioritise it based on value and funnel it into the development team. Sources can include the Product Roadmaps as defined by the Product Managers, directly from customers, ideas logs, customer facing teams (Support, Knowledge, Projects), technology teams (Architecture, UX, Infrastructure) and your own ideas and understanding of the products/domain. Manage the expectations of these stakeholders based on what the scrum team can commit to and deliver. Decompose features/epics into user stories and associated acceptance criteria and ensure that value is delivered with each user story. Work closely with UX Analysts and Business Analysts to clearly define the problem that needs to be solved. By articulating the problem clearly to the Design and Engineering teams (Architects, Designers, Developers, Testers) will allow these teams to identify and develop the best technical solutions. Collaborate with these teams to ensure that the original problem is solved through the offered solution. Also creation and grooming of the product backlog, ensuring that it delivers the product strategy Convey requirements to Architecture and UX team members and review their outputs (solution designs, wireframes etc) to ensure that requirements and value are delivered Planning & Sprint Activities such as attending all scrum ceremonies (release planning, sprint planning, stand ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives) Work with management to develop swim lanes for various categories of work in any given sprint (e.g. bug fixing, new features, technical debt). Facilitate and contribute to the cross-functional “Product Decision Team”, managing decision making across the stakeholder community and using this in Product Backlog grooming and refinement Acceptance, Demos & Release; review and accept user stories into the baseline as they are completed during the sprint, ensuring they deliver the business value intended. Be the “go to” person within Technology from the Operations side of the business Attendance, engagement and contribution to the Product Community of Practice
