Sky News is looking for an engaged, creative ENG camera operator/editor to primarily work alongside a dedicated correspondent and producer based in the Midlands/North-West of the UK. Working as a team, they will be required to travel throughout the country delivering a wide variety of short-form and long-form news content for all our platforms. These will be the big stories of the day, reflecting upon and making sense of the changing political and social landscape of Britain, told through the lives of those affected the most. You will: Be required to deliver a wide variety of news stories around the UK, often at short-notice and at times on your own. Work alongside a dedicated correspondent and producer for the majority of the time. Be required to work with and support the wider Sky News Political Unit based at Millbank when required, thereby furthering Sky News’ ambition to take our political reporting away from Westminster. Need to be ready to respond to “Breaking News” as and when the need arises. Be at the heart of the creative and editorial process. Operate current ENG news cameras and field editing systems. Operate bonded, IP technologies to deliver LIVE and recorded video content from the field. Be responsible for ENG camera, sound and personal broadcast equipment including the use of company pool vehicles when required. You’ll have: Experience operating a range of ENG camera equipment. Demonstrable knowledge of ADOBE non-linear field editing systems. Experience operating transmission equipment for all newsgathering purposes ie LiveU’s etc. Experience in delivering a wide variety of raw and edited news content for all platforms, when under pressure of tight deadlines and challenging environments. Be able to demonstrate a strong sense of how news works for online platforms including Facebook / Twitter / Sky News Mobile App. A full drivers licence and valid passport.
