The jobholder will develop a robust research communication strategy and delivery of high quality editorial content, illustrations and videos. He or she will need to be comfortable writing for specialists as well as a general audience in an engaging manner. To effectively support the Singapore Eye Research Institute's (SERI) Science communication efforts through the organisation of corporate events such as public and posting of research news on various social media sites, printing and distribution of collaterals, maintenance and revamp of the SERI corporate website. Internal and External Communications Update and maintain the SERI website and intranet Adept in writing timely and compelling research stories and content for traditional and digital media, and involved in producing integrated multi-media packages Communicate science to specialists as well as the public Media Reports Weekly updates on research news to SERI management. Posting of research news/awards on all media platforms Organise and coordinate events Assist in organising, coordinating and / or promoting: Public Education Talks Celebratory and other events Events are well organised as scheduled Feedback via email To coordinate and / or provide response to queries Admin support to Director, Research & Academic Affairs Project basis Auto req ID 6498BR Job Requirements Bachelor Degree with 1-2 years’ experience in corporate/ Science Communications Passion for academic research and its potential impact, and experience of translating complex research findings for a variety of audiences to understand Experience of news and feature writing and editing, and ability to convey messages succinctly, responsibly and accurately Demonstrated news judgement Excellent written, verbal and interviewing skills Experience of publishing in both traditional and new media channels Social media savvy and able to work independently and be a good team player Job Category Management / Administration Job Function Media & Communications Employment Type Contract Part Time Location Singapore Education Level Bachelors Degree
