We are looking for a passionate photographer to capture moments and tell a story through their photos. Working with the creative director, they will use their artistic and technical skills to create both product, lifestyle and portrait photography. The photographer will be responsible for capturing high resolution images, and take direction on props and backgrounds to create compositions based on the brand needs. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Work closely with our creative team to develop the concept and execution. Select and assemble proper equipment, and choose proper settings and props based on the need of the creative team. Properly light subjects using lighting, flashes and reflectors where necessary. Determine desired images and compositions and choose equipment, props, settings and lighting to achieve desired results. Retouch, resize and enhance images as needed using Photoshop, Lightroom or other photography software. Archive photographic images and maintain accurate database Maintain an in depth understanding of photographic best practices and procedures Requirements Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe CS or other photography specific software Shooting and lighting skills Competency in applying best photographic practices and techniques Knowledge of production process for online publishing and various printing applications Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects Ability to use different types of photographic equipment and photography software. Understanding of artificial and natural lighting and how it affects different settings and subjects. Good communication and people skills, with the ability to discuss complex artistic concepts in easy-to-understand terms. A keen eye for detail and a well-developed artistic and creative aesthetic. Proven professional shooting experience Proficient with traditional and modern equipment Bonus points for video shooting and editing skills This is an in-house position, so you must live in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland Please note this is a contract position, with the potential for full-time employment.
