Overview: An exciting opportunity to become a member of the Patent Attorney team within one of the world’s leading IP teams. The Role: We are seeking to recruit a Trainee Patent Attorney to help develop our practice within our truly dynamic international firm. We anticipate you will have at least an undergraduate qualification in electronic engineering, computer science, or physics, preferably including knowledge of cellular communication systems. Industry experience would be valuable. Experience in private practice is not essential. Completion of QMW, or similar, for part qualified candidates is helpful but not essential. You will be predominantly focusing on cellular telecommunications, electronics, software, and medical device companies seeking to protect their IP in Europe. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing team of patent attorneys on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and to support opposition and appeal work. As well as core patent attorney skills, working as part of our integrated, international, IP team opens the possibility to assisting with litigation and transactional matters led by our team of lawyers. Clients will range from small start-ups to multinationals, with a focus on direct-client work. We are routinely instructed on clients’ commercially valuable, complex, cases. You’ll be intelligent, commercially astute, conscientious, team-player with a positive and pro-active approach. Your training and development will be important to us.
