Job Description Scientific Advisor provides scientific expertise in digitalizing the capture of Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA) and use of connected health devices in clinical trials for the benefit of Signant Health’s clients. They also provide guidance and insight internally and contribute to the company’s scientific position. Scientific Advisor provides scientific services to clients to ensure they receive solutions that meet the scientific needs of their studies. This will include analyzing study protocols, doing research to develop knowledge and collate prior experience, indication specific requirements, specifying key aspects of solution design, participating in client meetings as well as collaboration with internal stakeholders. Scientific Advisor may occasionally work on consultation projects to do research and provide expert advice for clients. They also provide recommendations on instrument migration to electronic format assisting Sales and Client Services in ensuring instruments are implemented according to author requirements and industry best practices. This position will develop an understanding of different therapeutic areas to support the use of eCOA across CRF Health’s business. The position will promote the science and art of eCOA supporting a sense of purpose in the organization and appreciation of scientific best practices. Provide Scientific Advice for studies to ensure their objectives are well understood and taken into consideration in the design of eCOA solutions. The goal is to provide the optimal solutions for studies thereby ensuring studies meet their objectives. This includes for example: Analyzing study protocols and client needs, documenting study requirements and success factors Doing research to develop knowledge and collate prior experience Providing scientific guidance on solution design for Sales and Solution Architects Providing scientific guidance in client meetings Providing scientific input in internal design discussions Managing time to what has been planned Support Health Outcomes in providing Sales and Operations support to address questions that are relevant for correct use of eCOA and instruments from the perspective of meeting the objectives of the study Provide guidance on the best use of eCOA to achieve the goals of the study protocol Provide advice on instruments, their translation and migration to electronic format Provide consultation service in form of special projects on client-specific scientific questions Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the most recent regulatory requirements for clinical outcome assessments (eCOA) and the implementation of such requirements in clinical research. Provide engaging clinical trials and other eCOA related training to new staff in collaboration with Learning and Development to provide them with an understanding of clinical trials and eCOA. Develop new and improved best practices for eCOA and share them so that they can be utilized in clinical trials by Solution Architects and other Scientific Advisors and are more broadly available for Operations and R&D to be used in raising their awareness of Signant Health’s business so that their work meets client needs. Stay on the leading edge of eCOA through research activities and collaboration with clients, KOLs and industry forums so that CRF Health can utilize the most up to date eCOA understanding in its client projects and appears as the best eCOA provider in the industry Present and promote Signant Health in the industry, including active participation in industry forums, conferences, delivering speeches webinars and papers on selected topics to raise awareness of Signant Health as a leading eCOA provider Qualifications Advanced degree in a Science or other appropriate subject Experience in clinical research, preferably in more than one therapeutic area or indication Knowledge of clinical outcome assessments’ scientific aspects Ability to develop expertise in new fields through research and networking Ability to instill confidence when providing client consultation Ability to take feedback and handle opposing views and find resolutions for the benefit of the study Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task between support role and in-depth advisor role Have strong interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written skills Need to be an effective, positive team player who can work across stream and teams and in a matrix environment.
