Responsibilities We have an opportunity for a Hardware Engineer to join our team in our Richmond, BC headquarters. In this role, you will be responsible for hardware development for the Module Integration team. Key Accountabilities: Responsible for the design and development of cellular LPWA/IoT modules Design to comply with high level hardware requirements Responsible for Schematic capture and layout of high complexity, high density modules Collaborate with PCB team to complete component placement and board layout Execute hardware development and verification plans including design reviews, troubleshoot hardware & manufacturing issues Ensure compliance to quality processes as defined by our product development plan Assist factory processes (i.e. DFM, DFT, NPI and Manufacturing Test) Assist customers on design reviews and troubleshooting Provide training and mentoring to team members and provide HW support to other groups in the company Requirements Post-secondary degree in Electrical/Electrical Engineering or Equivalent with 2-5 years of product design experience in the following areas: Solid knowledge of Electrical Circuit Theory and Analysis, Digital Baseband, Processor and Communications Theory Experience in cellular radio development working with highly complex electronics and high density multilayer printed circuit boards. Demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining designs successfully throughout the entire product lifecycle Experience in designing interfaces such as USB2/3, UART, I2C, SPI, PCIe, WiFi and Ethernet Experience in designing battery powered products Experience in designing to meet DFM and DFT requirements Experience with systemic and advanced trouble shooting techniques to component and silicon level Working knowledge with Baseband and Wireless Communication Test Equipment such as Call Boxes, Digital Oscilloscopes, Logic analysers, USB, PCIe and Audio analysers Hands-on rework experience with surface mount components and printed circuit assemblies Good organizational skills, methodical, self-motivated, detail and achievement oriented, while excelling in a dynamic multi-tasking fast paced environment Must work well individually and in a team environment Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
