Part Time, Temporary (May 11-July 3, 2020) Non Union Position Services and Housing In the Province (SHIP) is a Provincial leader in the broader public sector that builds strategic partnerships and programs that support the fundamental rights for Housing and Health Services throughout the Peel Region, Dufferin County, and surrounding areas. Reporting to their respective Manager, we are currently searching for a Summer Program Assistant - Information Technology who will have a passion for indirectly supporting the community through technical support for SHIP staff. Duties & Responsibilities: Act as the first point of contact for emails and calls regarding IT issues and inquiries Troubleshoot basic IT related problems both remotely and in-person (computers, mobile phones, printers and network connectivity) Create, follow, and update documentation on IT processes Deploy computers and phones as necessary Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned Key Attributes: Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills Effective decision making skills and ability to assess a comprehensive range of variables to be able to interpret, analyze, and solve problems Ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of individuals of varying levels of education, professions, and personal life experiences from a broad range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds Qualifications: Pursuing or have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field or equivalent Between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment Previous experience in relevant positions or equivalent Coop experience in related field is an asset Previous experience working or volunteering in a non-profit organization is an asset Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Working Conditions: Hours are generally Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm Average amount of physical effort is required.
