About Seqwater Seqwater is the Queensland Government Bulk Water Supply Authority. We are responsible for providing a safe, reliable and affordable bulk drinking water supply for 3.2 million people acorss South East Queensland. Our operations extend from Gympie to the New South Wales border, and west to the base of hte Toowoomba ranges. Your new position This is your opportunity to join a great organisation. Seqwater has 6 temporary full-time Ranger positions that will see you supporting the Regional Recreation and Catchment teams in our annual fire management program. As the team prepares for the upcoming burn season, we are seeking additional Rangers who currently hold Level 1 Fire management qualifications (or equivalent) to work across our Regions. You will undertake a range of activities, with no 2 days the same. In this role you will work with a small dedicated team of Rangers in conjunction with and coordinated by the Fire Management team to ensure the delivery of the annual burn program across our Seqwater catchment areas. We are seeking Rangers to be based from the following locations: Southern Regional Office - (based at Hinze Dam) Central Regional Office - (based at Wivenhoe Dam) Northern Regional Office - (based at North Pine Dam) Whist the majority of the work will take place within your designated region, there maybe a requirement to travel to other regions to deliver the program. About you To be successful in this role it is essential that you are experienced in fire management and as a minimum hold Fire Level 1 certification (or equivalent). You must hold a manual drivers licence, as you will be required to frequently drive between catchment locations. Holding certifications as a Senior First Aid Officer, Fire Level 2 and Chainsaws Level 1 and/or 2 will be advantageous. You will have an awareness of cultural heritage and have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team across Seqwater managed sites. You will be able to quickly build good working relationships and have good stakeholder engagement skills, as you may be required to interact with contractors and members of the public.
