Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking a Part Time Legal Nurse Consultant for our Chicago office to work approximately 25-28 hours/week. SUMMARY: The Legal Nurse Consultant will be responsible for managing case files, researching medicine, investigating facts, and preparing documents to assist attorney. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provide consultation, research, and investigation of medical records · Provide medical record chronology, summary and/or analysis · Research medical literature for cases · Provide anatomy and pathophysiology education to attorneys · Analyze pre-deposition and post-deposition transcript data on expert witnesses · Provide pre-trial and trial support for attorneys · Investigate potential medical billing irregularities · Research and recommend medical experts · Conduct document reviews KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: · Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Illinois and in good standing · Minimum 5 year of experience of Nurse Consultant · Excellent organization and written and verbal communication skills · Must be able to read general legal periodicals, journals, procedures, and government regulations. Job Type: Part-time Salary: $50.00 to $55.00 /hour Experience: Nurse Consultant: 5 years (Required) License: Registered Nurse (RN) (Required) Work Location: One location
