We're looking for a brilliant Content Editor with a passion for luxury travel to write inspiring hotel copy, sub-edit like a pro and be a general support to the busy Italian editorial team About Secret Escapes Secret Escapes is the biggest members-only website offering flash sales on luxury travel around the world. We negotiate amazing deals and exclusive discounts for our members. Travel is - and should be - exciting, and booking a holiday or hotel should be a great experience. We want to inspire the world to escape, and we do so with strong imagery, stylish writing, sought-after destinations and unbeatable prices. About you Are you a talented wordsmith, sub-editor and social media addict with a passion for travel, an eye for detail, an issue with poor grammar and a great sense of humour (without breaking the unwritten codes of taste and decency)? Things you'll be working on Researching and writing sales copy in Italian for the hotels and destinations that we sell Sub-editing existing Italian copy and copy from our team of freelancers Working with our bespoke content management system Selecting the lead image for the sales that you are given ownership of Supporting fellow editorial team members with ad hoc writing/editing/admin tasks Responding to internal email requests for copy changes How the magic happens There are six of us in the Italian editorial team and we're all based in the London office. We're always juggling several tasks at once and we work hard to meet tough weekly deadlines. We do all of this with a smile on our face, a cookie in our hands and a genuine love for the job. We're one of the closest teams in the company and spending our working days together is a genuine pleasure. What we expect from you Degree educated (preferably in Journalism, Communications or similar) Experience writing for the web and mobile (in Italian) If you have previous experience in online travel, that would be amazing Confident and effective communicator Faultless attention to detail – able to spot an error in a nanosecond Impeccable Italian grammar Strong eye for imagery is essential A passion for trans-creation and content Experience using social media platforms and content management systems, if not professionally then in a personal capacity Your characteristics An ability to quickly understand and write in our house style Ability to quickly identify and highlight a property's unique selling points Conscientious and driven to achieve results Calm under pressure and able to prioritise effectively Impressive accuracy and speed Innovative, creative and commercially-minded Good knowledge of and genuine interest in hotels and destinations An all-round hard worker who's happy to get stuck in and work on some less-than-exciting tasks. It's not all about five-star hotels here and you need to tackle both with equal enthusiasm and energy Above all, someone who's positive, friendly and a team player Things you should know We have a mild obsession for delicious food so be prepared to put on a few pounds!
