Job Summary: Located in the Wilson, NC area, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. We are looking for a ME to help get us quickly evolving in innovative and unique ways to increase our throughput and capacity while walking us towards higher degrees of automation. Responsibilities and Duties Ensuring assembly up-time to meet production needs Scaling and innovating next-generation machinery and processes to increase efficiency, quality, and capacity and reduce cost Working with process engineers to improve output Working with R&D to improve quality, reliability, and productivity Identify opportunities for gains in out-put AND follow-through on their execution Work closely with the Quality department to continually improve product quality and correct any problems that arise Design of new components or sub-systems of existing equipment to improve performance Take component and subsystem designs from design in 3D CAD through prototyping and testing to deployment Knowledge of advanced assembly modeling in a 3D CAD package Working on the floor of a production environment Assisting with and performing QA/QC tests in QA lab Documentation of processes and procedures Documentation of technical aspects of equipment (adjustments, maintenance) Creating specifications documents for new or next-generation equipment Working with outside vendors in designing and building new equipment Perform basic statistical analysis to quantify gains and identify opportunities Setting realistic timelines and goals Basic Qualifications 4-Year Degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of experience working in make-to-order or make-to-stock production environments Preference will be given to those that have experience in a start-up organization Must have strong business acumen with the ability to analyze and make educated decisions in a timely manner Hands-on experience Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and 6S Experience a must. Demonstrated understanding of ERP and MRP concepts. 3D Modeling in Solidworks or PTC Creo The mentality to just make it happen Thinks outside of the box and line of thinking they may have been presented with Willing and happy to do any and all tasks to get the job done, no matter how big or small; no matter within their immediate job description or not Minimum 2 years working with machinery in an engineering role Able to work on a production floor for extended periods of time. Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking, pulling, pushing, stretching, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping, bending, grasping. May need to periodically lift 50-100 lbs.
