Seco Tools has presence in more than 50 countries and employs about 5,000 people. We are now looking for a dedicated and proactive Application Engineer for our Product Line Solid Milling. Working in tandem with our customers, the team of global application engineers develop technical solutions that make the difference in customer’s production processes. Key performance areas As an Application Engineer, you will provide technical support to Seco Tools' Sales Engineers and customers by assisting in the proper selection and application of products. A key component of this role is supporting applications by providing solutions based on standard and customized tools. The Application Engineer will solve tooling problems, introduce and apply Seco products in customers' plants, and provide input for product optimization and product development based on market information and new machining technologies. You will use your machining technical ability to provide key technical support in order to achieve assigned sales targets and profitable growth. This will involve reviewing technical specifications and requirements, assessing the customer manufacturing process (tool selection, milling strategy, CAM data), conducting customer tests, and collecting test data to validate the success of the proposed solution. Additional responsibilities include: Developing and providing technical training, presentations, demos, and seminars Supporting R&D and Product Management in New Product Development projects Drives continuous improvement projects and activities The Application Engineer reports to the Manager Global Market Support, based in the Netherlands. As part of the Global Solid Milling Application Engineering team, this role will require up to 50% intercontinental travelling. The location for this position is the Solid Milling Production and Product Line location in Lottum, The Netherlands. Your profile Besides possessing a degree in engineering, machining, or materials science, the Application Engineer will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ related applications experience. Experience in a production environment is required. You are familiar with manufacturing/machining, including CNC machining set up and programming, and have prior project management experience. You have excellent problem solving and analytical skills and possess the ability to solve practical problems and provide tailored solutions. Experience with cost analysis for improving process productivity and documenting cost savings is also preferred. We place great value on your personal qualities in this recruitment.
