Overview: – DIRECTOR, FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION– This position is responsible for the daily operations of the FPDC department including oversight of approved and active expansion and renovations and move/add/change projects. Focus on quality execution of the design and construction process for all non-clinical and clinical projects including new construction, tenant improvements, deferred maintenance/infrastructure upgrades, and move/add/change projects. Partner with architects, design consultants and the general contractor to ensure all projects are executed in a timely manner and within the determined budget allocation. Work closely with the Design Manager to prepare and present recommendations to local and state regulatory agencies and others. The Director will provide leadership and direction to direct reports as well as project managers and external consultants engaged in construction and renovation. Develop and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with external and internal customers, and ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, and codes applicable to renovation and constructions project in healthcare institutions. Assure program and departmental functional needs are met through the effective use of resources including architect time, interior design and construction resources, and hospital staff. Partner with the Senior Director to ensure that construction and renovation plans are congruent with the strategies and priorities for Children’s.
