The legal team is critical to helping scale Scoop’s enterprise product, creating a safe community, and enabling our internal team to do their best work. We’re seeking a sharp, business-minded attorney to join our charismatic legal team in adding more leverage to our efforts. As the VP, Legal you will be a cross-functional business multiplier, working with our Revenue organization to negotiate commercial agreements with our enterprise customers, as well as with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure our product is compliant with a wide range of legal requirements, including data privacy and marketing laws. In this role, you will: Have the ability to lead strategically, but also contribute individually, balancing and prioritizing the legal needs of an ever-changing and growing SaaS company Be a strategic thought partner to the business and leadership teams Providing leadership on general corporate and governance matters, partnering with and advising product teams, and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial and technology agreements Report to the Chief Financial Officer You should have: 15+ years of experience practicing law in the technology space, including experience as an in-house attorney A JD, admission to the California Bar, and an excellent academic record Areas of deep substantive expertise that include: Corporate, Product Counseling and/or Commercial Transactions, as well as operational strength Proven success at a SaaS, high-growth and/or pre-IPO company You might also have: A collaborative approach and ability to develop and support strong cross-functional relationships Impeccable legal and business judgment and an ability to quickly assess risk/impact and prioritize Management/mentorship/leadership experience A connection to and excitement about Scoop’s mission Life @ Scoop Founded in 2015 and based in downtown SF, our team mixes technology and elbow grease every day, with one statistic in our crosshairs: 80% of Americans drive alone to work.
