CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: The post holder will be responsible for assisting the TLCs teachers and Education Officer in project mobilization and sensitization activities at field and district level. S/he with be responsible for implementing different field level community mobilization activities in coordination and liaising with other project theme and govt. stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for creating and positive link between community, project and govt. stakeholders to implement all the project activities within project timeline, according to the DIP and budget effectively and efficiently. S/he will be the face for Save the Children at community level. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Motivate, mobilize and sensitize children, families and community members and encourage them to enrol their children in Temporary Learning Centres (TLCs). Identify, document and promote the participation of the most vulnerable families and children in the TLCs activities. Support TLCs teachers and staff in inclusion of children in TLCs activities. Support in education awareness and other education related activities with identified and at target communities to promote education and enrolment in schools and TLCs. Link education mobilization activities with other thematic i.e. Child Protection and Health activities to scale up the impact of project for children. Mobilize the community through dialogue, awareness raising, campaigning and BBCM to identify and address children education issues. Work with Informal Committee Structures to promote the education in the area and mobilize the committee to work for education promotion their area and linked these structures with other existing structures at area to increase the efforts for benefit of children. Ensure active community support for the project activities and ownership. Collection and dissemination of information and data between communities, project staff and stakeholders. Collect and make available required data from field and share with and when required Any other project related tasks required by the supervisor. Working knowledge of child rights is preferred EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in working with children in difficult situations Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including people of culturally diverse backgrounds. Work experience at gross root level with community in time of crises Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Good team working skills. Ability to draft report clearly and concisely. Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to work under pressure. Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility and drive for results. Proficiency in Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Explorer.
