This role, reporting to the State Manager, is a hands on role where you will effectively oversee, manage and continuously improve key functional areas within the State Distribution centre (Dandenong South - VIC) and the satellite Warehouse (Epping - VIC). With a process oriented approach and proven leadership skills, you will ensure that the logistics and warehousing activities are performed within an efficient and cost effective manner whilst ensuring all client requirements are met. We are looking for a highly energetic, hands on, self-starter with a background in the Automotive industry - preferred but not essential. You will be a service focused individual with the ability to drive Operational Excellence within all warehouse, logistics, and admin support. You should be able to demonstrate a credible, robust and detail focused mindset together with the talent and tenacity we need to drive service and attain the highest level of Customer Satisfaction. Key responsibilities: Provide direction and leadership to DC and warehouse staff ensuring that all activities are carried out following established procedures and safe work practices Act as a member of the warehouse leadership Team whilst leading by example with a hands-on approach and being a role model for all SWD values. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for all areas of operation. Ensure Safety Standards are met and that an emergency Response Plan is property implemented and maintained. Facilitating inbound and outbound stock movement with both internal and external teams to meet our key focus on facilitating accurate and on time customer deliveries that meet delivery KPI’s. Work with freight companies and SWD’s internal Team to solve cost, delivery & stock accuracy issues. Facilitate regular stock counts and maintain 100% stock accuracy Maintain best practices in storage area utilisation, adhering to best practices, operational requirements and recommending improvements when necessary. Facilitate forward planning of labour requirements in order to meet KPI’s and coordinate, manage and continuously review the performance of all resources to ensure service and productivity standards/targets are met. Ensuring our facilities are compliant with OH&S requirements and overseeing high standards of equipment / vehicles / machinery maintenance. Skills and experience 5+ years of experience working in a leadership role within a warehouse / logistics environment Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment - inbound/outbound containers and transfers whilst servicing local customers. Well-developed written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy, preferable experience with PRONTO would be beneficial. Well-developed commercial acumen and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail. Proven ability to prioritise a high workload and deal with competing demands. Motivated self-starter with warehouse management experience, including the ability to work as part of a large national team. Drivers licence and Forklift/Stock picker certification is essential for this role Benefits: The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary package commensurate with the position and experience.
