Position Overview To develop, facilitate and assess relevant industry training to assist the general public, long-term unemployed and other disadvantaged people to obtain employment, enhance employment skills, or proceed to further education or training. Responsibilities: The Industry Trainer is responsible for: Duties: Adhering to government contractual requirements to achieve and maintain compliance within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. To maintain the training and assessment systems of the Organisation, through continuous improvement. Conducting training needs analysis for each trainee prior to commencement. Developing appropriate competency-based programs and compliant assessment tools to meet learner needs. Ensuring all trainees are actively engaged in training to obtain a successful outcome, and providing adequate training material to trainees, prepared in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Conducting assessments in accordance with the Training package requirements and relevant assessment tools including online submissions. Conducting assessment validation and moderation. Liaising with key staff and course participants in order to assist trainees gain work placement during each program as scheduled, and to supervise work placement. Maintaining trainee records as per Standard Operating Procedures. Maintaining safety standards within his/her area of control, and ensuring the security of all plant and equipment, and that issues/repairs needed are reported immediately to the Area Manager: Training Services. Seeking approval from the Area Manager: Training Services regarding the invitation of guest speakers to enhance training programs, or facilitating off site training. Maintaining professional relationships with staff and representatives of other organisations at all times. Promoting the activities and services of the Organisation to external and internal stakeholders. Any other duties as directed by TS Managers. Quality Standards, Regulations and Responsibilities: The Industry Trainer is responsible for ensuring that the following regulations, standards and codes are complied with: The Organisation’s Policies and Procedures Contractual requirements and specifications Code of Practice and relevant Service Guarantees Complaints Procedure Appropriate authority regulations Relevant legal, professional and ethical obligations SW.PD-15 Training and Employment Consultant - PD-03 ISO 9001 VET Quality Framework Qualifications: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 including TAELLN411 & TAEASS502, or TAE40116) or higher qualification in Adult Education Relevant Industry qualifications Relevant training experience Key Skills/Attributes: Excellent interpersonal skills and personality traits that will foster the co-operation of clients Ability to build networks with employers Must display initiative and willingness to work autonomously within a team environment Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written Comfortable working with all age groups, (15 - 65), and a range of Nationalities Must display exceptional facilitation and workplace assessment skills, and the ability to draw quality evidence Must embrace and foster continuous improvement Ability to organise work schedules and prioritise work responsibilities Must be computer literate Attitude: A flexible, positive attitude towards hours of work and working arrangements Loyal to Organisation, ambitious, enjoys meeting and working with people Enjoys a challenge and demonstrates initiative and creativity An understanding of and empathy for people experiencing periods of unemployment A strong commitment to the ethos of enterprise and business development An understanding and acceptance of organisational change A belief in and commitment to the pursuit of excellence Desirable Skills/Attributes: Experience working with special needs client groups such as the long term unemployed, people with a disability, non-English speaking background, drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness, domestic violence and psychological disorders is highly desirable. Additional Factors: Driver’s license essential This position may require occasional attendance at meetings or training outside normal business hours National police clearance - Working with Children and/or DCSI.
