MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLOR / OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST Part Time, Fixed Term (until July 2023) Elmwood Campus £33,572 - £39,497 per annum, pro-rata Ref: ANF/E/078/20 SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. We currently seek a Mental Health Counsellor/Occupational Therapist to support our student body at the Elmwood campus of SRUC’s North Faculty. Key activities will include: Developing an efficient, discreet and inclusive approach to all learners who require support with their mental health/wellbeing, to widening access and enable learner participation. Support and assist people who we support in crisis situations In this role you will assess the needs of learners, identify appropriate learning support adjustments, self-help strategies and organise the implementation of study support arrangements to ensure an effective learning environment can be created and maintained. In addition you will deliver to appropriate stakeholders; training, materials or strategies required to enhance opportunities for learning and contribute to student well-being initiatives. To be considered for this role you should be qualified to Degree level or equivalent with a professional qualification in a related field such as psychiatric nursing, social work, counselling with BAC accreditation, mental health occupational therapist, or teaching with mental health experience. Professional membership of a relevant body is required. You will also have experience of working with learners with Additional Support Needs. The successful candidate will be a positive, approachable professional with a passion for supporting the needs of others. This role is part-time, predominantly term-time only but may have occasional duties during vacations. Typically, term-time hours will be 14.8 hours per week.
