Description: South College is one of the nation's most successful and fastest growing institutions of Higher Learning! South College Online seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in Computer and Internet Literacy. Successful candidates will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field and preference will be given to candidates who have successfully taught entry-level computing and Microsoft Office courses in the online format. The position will report to the Pittsburgh office four days per week and will report directly to the Department Chair for General Education Online. Job Description The Computer and Internet Literacy faculty will teach thirty (30) college-level courses covering basic Internet usage, computer components, responsible computing, and Microsoft Office. Responsibilities include facilitating discussions effectively, providing live and recorded lectures, and giving detailed assignment feedback. The Computer and Internet Literacy faculty may also teach other general education courses as credentialed but will be expected to predominantly teach Computer and Internet Literacy courses for most of their teaching load. The Computer and Internet Literacy faculty will maintain student grade and attendance records for all courses taught, coordinate updates to the master course shell (Blueprint) in Canvas, maintain and update course syllabi, work with the Department Chair and Dean of Academics Online for course adjustments, and support the student advising team for a successful first quarter and first year student experience. All faculty are required to participate in department activities, including committee meetings, curriculum discussion, student solutions management, and other service activities. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.. Requirements: Applicants must have a Master’s or terminal degree in computing or information technology with successful completion of a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in directly related coursework. Preference will be given to applicants with prior successful online teaching experience for first year and first-time college students, particularly in Microsoft Office. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are a must.
