The Role The AV technician will provide installation, configuration, commissioning and support services to clients. The role involves building and testing Audio Visual systems in-house and on-site. AV technicians are required to work on all types of Sound Reinforcement, Public Address, Voice Alarm, Audio Visual and Control Systems. The role also involves the provision of telephone and on-site service and support for customers. Appropriate Qualification Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the installation of Audio-Visual systems. Have significant knowledge based on training and work experience, on all aspects of Audio-Visual systems including sound reinforcement system set up. A third level Audio, Information technology, Electrical or Electronic qualification would be an advantage. The knowledge and skills referred to above may have been gained in either the current or previous employment or other setting. An understanding of computer networks is a desirable. Required Skills Include Experience of installing and configuring Audio Visual systems. Working knowledge of products and systems currently available within the industry. Ability to liaise directly with customers. Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A strong commitment to quality customer service. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and independently on own initiative. Good fault finding and resolution skills. Proven ability to work to tight deadlines Flexible approach, determination and capacity to innovate to achieve success. Successful Candidate will be: Committed to the provision of a quality service and support. Driving licence essential. Duties Installation, configuration and commissioning services on PA and AV systems. Carry out customer service calls and communicate with customers on outcomes and recommendations. To carry out routine preventative maintenance checks on systems and produce system status reports. Complete job sheets and reports for service calls. Carry out workshop repairs and liaise with suppliers on faults and warranty issues. Complete reports for workshop repairs. Assemble and modify equipment and systems. Participate in the preparation of safe working plans, method statements and risk assessments. Provide on-site support and operation for clients as required. Technicians employed in an AV technician role will be required to travel to and work in locations nationwide.
