Job Summary The Information Systems Department (ISD) is composed of 140 people in 3 entities (Management & Control, Functional, Technical). It ensures the smooth operation, security and evolution of the Group's information system. With regard to its internal customers, it plays a role of service provider, project partner and innovation leader. Within the ISD, the functional pillar (75 people) designs and develops new applications and maintains existing applications. It conducts the preliminary studies, establishes the functional and technical specifications and carries out the developments with its own resources or in collaboration with external partners. SCOR’s presence in Ireland comprises of SCOR Global Life Reinsurance Ireland DAC (SGLRI) and SCOR Life Ireland DAC (SLI) which are both authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). And SCOR Management Services Ltd (SMSI); all three entities have a combined team of 100+ professionals. The successful person is responsible for all applications related to Actuarial Modelling in SGL landscape, including but not limited to global platforms implemented for pricing and reserving departments (SCOPE/HYPERION) based on Prophet Enterprise for the actuarial cash flows production and integrated with user interfaces and input / output data warehouses. SGL landscape also includes actuarial applications such Moses, Axis and Milliman Mind. They will also be in charge of all operational activities ensuring availability, provisioning, performance and sustainability of the application (day to day run operations, corrective maintenance, enhancements, security, compliance, budget, roadmap…). They are expected to work closely with the business users in charge of the maintenance of the applications (including the Modeling Center of Excellence (MCoE) under jointly the SGL Chief Reserving Actuary & SGL Chief Pricing Actuary) to be able to deliver software solutions successfully and ensure quality of service and SLAs. They will also contribute to the SGL IT transformation and IFRS17 program, and work on architecture and integration of the modeling solutions in the global SGL application landscape to fulfill business objectives. They will be acting as IT business partner for the 2 regulated entities based in Ireland. Key duties and responsibilities Understand and anticipate the business objectives of the area the team supports, how the software platforms contribute to those objectives, how that contribution is measured. Coordinate and work closely with business teams (either projects or maintenance teams) to collect the business requirements, define the solution, define and perform a testing strategy. Ensure systems availability and quality of service for end-users, manage incident process, provide IT support when needed. Contribute to global architecture definition and proper integration of modelling solutions in SGL IT landscape. Manage software development projects to ensure fulfillment of business requirements, quality, on-time delivery, adherence to best practices for design, development and testing, and compliance with SDLC lifecycles and SOX controls. Proactively suggest improvements in the platform, both from a technical and business perspective. Active participation in design meetings to gather/document software testing requirements from business units. Proactively provide advice and guidance and report to respective CEOs of SGLRI and SLI on matters relating to IT security, performance and optimization. Provide IT expertise in relation to preparation of related materials for Boards, Committees and CBI. Self-management and accountability for completing project deliverables as per agreed upon project timelines. Proactively and periodically reports to the management line proper visibility on the application (dashboard, achievements, issues and risks, planning, budget …). Provide high level scope estimation and sizing estimates for business planning purposes. Develop the quality assurance requirements and strategies that span the product development life cycle. Prepare and implement QA plans that include project documentation reviews, functional testing and systems testing. Develop career paths, skills, and conduct performance reviews. Travel, predominantly within Europe, will be a routine part of the role. Experience: 8+ years of experience participating in the software development lifecycle on systems which directly support business initiatives, with architecture and integration components. 5+ years of experience with PROPHET (more specifically Prophet Enterprise, ideally in Cloud environment). Experience with Moses and AXIS, whilst not essential, would be an advantage. Be client-oriented and engaged to meet challenging deadlines. Proven experience working with actuaries. A bachelor’s degree in information services management, computer science, applied mathematics or related fields, or equivalent work experience. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving and strong analytical skills. Multinational experience with Agile Methodologies such as Scrum. Reliability - Checks his/her work, challenges the solution before submitting it on time and identifies/corrects the mistakes if needed. Open Mindedness - Is interested in projects and business activities beyond his/her direct responsibility within the IT / technical scope.
